KATHMANDU, May 28: A 56-year-old man from Lalitpur Metropolitan City, who died on Wednesday evening at the KIST Medical College Teaching Hospital in Gwarko, Lalitpur, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The man was admitted to the hospital on May 24 after developing coronavirus symptoms. SSP Tek Prasad Rai at Lalitpur Metropolitan Police Range confirmed that the man died of coronavirus on Wednesday evening. He had been suffering from liver disease, according to Rai. With this, the number of death due to COVID-19 in Nepal has climbed to five.
COVID-19 patient dies at KIST Hospital
Chief of District Health Office, Lalitpur, Khageswor Gelal confirmed that the man died of coronavirus. "His throat swab tested positive for COVID-19 during the test at National Public Health Laboratory," Gelal told.
However, the Ministry of Health and Population has yet to officially confirm the fifth COVID-19 death in the country.
