KATHMANDU, June 16: The All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) close to the CPN (UML) gathered in front of the Ratna Rajya, Exhibition Road to hold demonstrations today in protest against the government decision to hold the local-level election in the Province No. 2 in the third-round.
Terming the decision to defer the election earlier scheduled for June 28 as 'interference' in the independency of Election Commission, the ANNFSU has demanded the government revise the decision and hold it as per the previous schedule.
Locals of Province 2 disappointed with poll deferral
ANNFSU President Nabina Lama said the government move to postpone the election in the Province No 2 was not in the interests of locals and they were launching an awareness campaign about this from tomorrow.
A mass meeting will be hold focusing on the election in all districts of the Province to make the people aware of the importance of timely election, she said. RSS
