APF into Manakamana quarters

POKHARA, Jan 30: Departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) Club has advanced into the quarterfinals of the ongoing sixth Manakamana Cable Car Pokhara Cup with a 2-1 win over Himalayan Sherpa Club on Tuesday.

POKHARA, Jan 30: Departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) Club has advanced into the quarterfinals of the ongoing sixth Manakamana Cable Car Pokhara Cup with a 2-1 win over Himalayan Sherpa Club on Tuesday.  


At the Pokhara Stadium, APF took the lead in the 25th minute through Aashish Lama as his shot from outside the box went in hitting underside of the bar.

Himalayan Sherpa equalized the game in the 54th minute as Amar Dangol scored from the rebound as Rabi Thapa’s freekick was saved. 


Sherpa conceded again in the 78th minute as APF got a penalty after a Sherpa player controlled the ball with his hand. Sudip Sikhrakar scored the winner. 


Lama was named the man of the match. 


Cameroon’s Dauphins Family Club and A-Division League outfit Chyasal Youth Club will take on each other on Wednesday.
