APF tops Dhorpatan with convincing win

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) has maintained its winning run with a straight 3-0 win over Western Regional Sports Development Committee of Pokhara in the ongoing 14th Red Bull Dhorpatan Suzuki Women’s Double League Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) has maintained its winning run with a straight 3-0 win over Western Regional Sports Development Committee of Pokhara in the ongoing 14th Red Bull Dhorpatan Suzuki Women’s Double League Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday. 


In its last game of the first league, APF defeated Western Region 25-17, 25-18, 25-21 to maintain its winning run.

APF, who has played one less game than Police, is top with 24 points from eight games ahead in head to head. Police, who lost to APF, has 24 points from nine games. 


Also, Police defeated Chitwan Tigress on straight sets of 25-6, 25-21, 25-13. In the other match on the day, Samakhusi English Boarding (SEB) School lost to the other departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club on straight sets of 25-22, 25-21, 25-10, while Western Region saw off Shree Gaun Sports Development Committee 25-13, 25-14, 25-9. 


The last match of the league between APF and Tigress was abandoned due to rain. 


Army is third with 21 points, while Western Region is fourth with 16. Also, SEB is fifth with 11 points, Shree Gaun is sixth with 10, Chitwan is seventh with eight. The top seven teams will play in the second round of the league.
