KOLKATA, Mar 10: The ugly spat between Indian pacer Mohammed Shami and his wife Hasin Jahan took a dramatic turn on Friday after the police registered an FIR against the pacer and four members of his family.
The Kolkata Police on Friday charged India cricketer Mohammad Shami with sections of the Indian Penal Code related to domestic violence, criminal intimidation and causing hurt with poison following a complaint filed by his wife Hasin Jahan.
Kolkata police have also charged the pacer’s elder brother with sections related to rape.
Murder attempt case filed against perpetrators
Shami's wife Jahan, who made claims of adultery, torture, and threats of being killed, had earlier posted screenshots of alleged conversations between Shami and multiple women.
She had also shared some photos of the bowler as “evidence” to support her allegations. However, Shami has refuted all the allegation and said that someone was misleading his wife.
Talking to the media earlier, Shami said, "Hasin and her family have been saying that we will sit and sort out all issues, but I don't know who has been misleading her".
"As far as the allegation of compromising my performance while playing for the country is concerned, I would rather die than do something like this," he added.
Shami and Jahan got married in April 2014 and have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
