KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Bangladesh has made its entry into the finals of SAFF U-18 Championship being held at APF Stadium in Halchowk, Kathmandu.
In the first semi-final clash against Bhutan on Friday, Bangladesh thrashed Bhutan 4 against 0 goals.
Nepal enters finals, to play against India
Mohammad Tanbir Hossain opened the scoring spree in the 16th minute through a header. The lead was doubled by another striker Foysal Mohammad Fahim in the 27th minute. Bangladesh had a comfortable lead of 3-0 after the completion of the first half as Mohham Maraz netted the ball to the Bhutanese post in the 32nd minute. Bhutan conceded yet another goal in the injury time. The final and the fourth goal for Bangladesh came from Dipok Roy (92’).
Bhutan entered the semi-finals as the group A-topper, however, suffered a humiliating defeat against Bangladesh.
Bangladesh will now take on the winner of another semi-final clash between India and the Maldives being held later on Friday afternoon for the title of the tournament.
