KATHMANDU, Feb 3: Businessman Arun Chaudhary, who was arrested in connection with the embezzlement of land belonging to the Bansbari Leather and Shoes Factory, has vowed to return the land if the land acquisition is found to be illegal.
An investigation officer involved in recording the statement of detained businessperson Chaudhary made this revelation.

The statement is being recorded in the presence of the chief of the District Attorney Office, Kathmandu, Sandesh Shrestha, according to Superintendent of Police from the Central Bureau of Investigation, Nabaraj Adhikari.
Police had arrested Chaudhary; the then executive chair of Bansbari Shoe Factory, Ajit Narayan Singh Thapa; and proprietor of Champion Footwear Pvt and CG Chandbag Residency, Sanjay Thakur, in the same case.
SSP Dinesh Raj Acharya of the CIB, said, "The arrest was made after a long investigation. So, it is not a hasty action."
