KATHMANDU, July 17: Mahesh Kumar Bartaula has been appointed as the chief whip of the ruling CPN-UML parliamentary party.
Prime Minister and CPN-UML parliamentary party leader KP Sharma Oli nominated Bartaula to the position on Wednesday.

The CPN-UML has appointed Bartaula as the chief whip in the House of Representatives to receive the salary and other perks and benefits allocated for officials and members of the federal parliament, following the statute of the parliamentary party 2077 BS, effective from June 16.
Bartaula has previously served as both the whip and the chief whip of the UML.
