Bibeksheel asks PM Dahal, Gagan Thapa and Dhaniram Paudel to submit property details

KATHMANDU, Dec1: Bibeksheel Nepali has registered an application at the Office of the Prime Minister asking the prime minister, education minister and health minister to make public the details of their property.

KATHMANDU, Dec1: Bibeksheel Nepali has registered an application at the Office of the Prime Minister asking the prime minister, education minister and health minister to make public the details of their property.


Contrary to the provision requiring submission of property details within 100 days of appointment, high-ranking officials including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Education Minister Dhani Ram Paudel Health Minister Gagan Thapa among others have not submitted their property details yet.

Apart from this, Bibeksheel has also expressed serious concerns over the government's negligence to address the demands raised by senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC.



Eighteen days have elapsed since KC started his 10th round of fast-unto-death demanding several crucial reforms in the medical education sector. 


Bibeksheel has also expressed concerns over the arbitrary fees for MBBS course being charged by medical colleges. The group said medical colleges are charging between Rs 4 million to Rs 7 million. "On average there seems to be corruption of four billion rupees," Bibeksheel said in a statement, adding, "They [leaders] themselves are involved in this open corruption" that is why we registered application asking for their property details."
