MORANG, March 4: Biratnagar Metropolitan City has intensified the campaign to remove structures built against the standards within the metropolitan area.
Biratnagar metropolis has started removing the structures built without permission as locals did not remove them despite issuing a notice in this regard earlier.

The metropolis, which has expedited a campaign to make Biratnagar clean, beautiful and orderly, has been using dozers to remove structures that do not meet the road standards.
Chief Administrative Officer Bishnu Prasad Koirala informed Republica that the metropolis had to use a dozer after repeatedly requesting to remove the structures that were not in accordance with road standards. Due to the non-removal of the structure, the expansion of various narrow roads of the metropolis has been stalled.
The metropolis has removed the illegal structure of the road located in south-east of Biratnagar Bus Park and has removed the illegal structure of the north section of road located in Ward 1 with the help of dozer. The warehouse house owned by Binod Rijal, its wall and office of Water Supply Corporation and other structures have been removed.
Mayor Nagesh Koirala has been saying that there will be no compromise with anyone in the campaign to make Biratnagar clean, beautiful, bright, orderly and developed. He has also requested the residents of the city to support the campaign to make Biratnagar orderly by removing the structures that do not fall under road standards.
Similarly, the team of the metropolis has removed the surrounding structures from Hatkhola Chowk to the bridge along with the structures that fall under the road standards. Koirala, the chief administrative officer, said that the metropolis itself had to remove the towers, which have belittled the beauty of the metropolis. The metropolis has also a plan to remove all the trees built along the road.
