BIRGUNJ, Dec 25: Police on Monday arrested a teenager on the charge of stabbing a girl for refusing his love proposal.
Jay Kishor Chaudhary, 18, of Parsagadhi Municipality, Bhateni had allegedly stabbed Shakuntala Kumari Chaudhary, 18, of Parsagadhi-1 on Monday morning.

The victim is an eleventh grader at Janata Higher Secondary School of Badhinahar. Shakuntala has sustained a seven-inch deep injury in her thigh due to the attack. Besides that, she has also sustained cuts in her nose and lips.
She is currently undergoing treatment at Birgunj-based National Medical College. According to the doctors involved in her treatment, the condition of the victim is critical because of heavy bleeding. However, doctors are trying their best to save her life by seeking donated blood.
DSP Man Bahadur Rai of the District Police Office (DPO), Parsa informed Republica that Jay Kishor is currently under custody. As per the preliminary investigation of police, Jay Kishor stabbed Shakuntala with a knife when she was on her way to the school. The incident occurred at around 7 am in the morning.
It has been learnt that Jay Kishor had proposed Shakuntala when they were in eighth grade. Later, he dropped out of school but continued following the girl. The repeated refusal of the girl had irked Jay Kishor because of which he decided to take revenge, according to police.
Local women staged protest in front of Manawa Police Station demanding stern action against the culprit.
