BPKIHS unveils COVID-19 treatment costs

DHARAN, Oct 22: BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) has unveiled the costs of COVID-19 treatment.


BPKIHS unveiled the costs after the government decided not to bear the cost of COVID-19 treatment and PCR tests.

The COVID-19 patient without any symptoms of the disease will now have to deposit Rs 7,000 and pay Rs 2,000 everyday. Similarly, COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms will have to deposit Rs 12,000 and pay Rs 3,500 daily. Likewise, one with slightly complicated symptoms will have to deposit Rs 35,000 and pay Rs 7,500 daily and those with complicated symptoms will have to deposit Rs 60,000 and pay Rs 15,000 daily.


“This system has been implemented from Oct 17,” said Dr Gaurishankar Shah, director at BPKIHS.


COVID-19 patients seeking treatment at BPKIHS will have to deposit the amount before he or she is admitted to the hospital.


BPKIHS has also decided to charge Rs 2,200 for a PCR test.
