SINDHUPALCHOWK, Dec 17: Suman Tamang, the driver of the bus that met with a fatal accident in Sindhupalchowk district on Sunday, was with his family at the time , it is learnt.
Tamang had gone to Kalinchowk temple with his wife Sunita and their nine-month-old daughter and they were returning from the temple when the accident occurred.

Sunita was killed on the spot, and Suman fled the scene. He is still out of contact, while his daughter is at Sindhu Sadabahar Hospital at Khadichaur.Police learnt only on Monday that the bus driver was travelling with his family , said Sub-inspector Rajesh Dahal of District Traffic Police Office, Sindhupalchowk.
At first, police thought the baby belonged to one of the bus passengers .As nobody claimed the baby, police started to search for its parents. Sub-inspector Dahal said this was when the identity of the driver and his deceased wife became known .
He said the baby hasn't received any injury in the accident.Sunita's relatives have come into contact, according to police. But, nobody has come to claim the baby or take Sunita's body, which is now at the Primary Health Post in Barhabise.Police suspect the driver could be lying low for fear of arrest.In the accident, 15 passengers lost their lives while 19 others were injured.
The ill-fated bus (Ba 4 Kha 4468) plunged some 70 meters from a bend in the road in the Chhakilo area.
