CIAA files corruption case against 17 officials including four former chiefs of Koshi transport management office

KATHMANDU, June 7: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse and Authority (CIAA) on Monday filed a corruption case against 17 individuals including four former chiefs of the Transport Management Office, Koshi, for their alleged involvement in embezzling the revenue collected by the transportation office.

KATHMANDU, June 7: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse and Authority (CIAA) on Monday filed a corruption case against 17 individuals including four former chiefs of the Transport Management Office, Koshi, for their alleged involvement in embezzling the revenue collected by the transportation office.

Issuing a press statement, the anti-graft body said that a corruption case has been filed at the Special Court for their alleged involvement in depositing the revenue amount to their own accounts rather than transferring it to the government’s account.


According to the CIAA, the case has been filed against 17 individuals as per the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002.


The case has been filed against four former chiefs – Nayaraj Nepal, Tirtha Raj Lamsal, Gopal Thapaliya and Bhupendra Rai. Likewise, the anti-graft body has also filed the case against other 13 officials of the transport office.


According to the statement, the CIAA has sought confiscation of Rs 10.08 million from Nepal, Rs 3.30 million from Lamsal, Rs 1.30 million from Thapaliya and Rs 1.25 million from Adhikari.
