KATHMANDU, March 18: A corruption case has been filed against nine people including Gokul Sharma Poudel, the then acting chief of the Transportation Management Office, Kaski. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed the case at the Special Court, accusing them of taking bribes from those who had failed the driver's license test but were passed later.
The case was filed against Poudel, the then acting chief of the Kaski Transportation Management Office, Hari Prasad Gautam, Section Officer Bharatraj Kafle, and Bharatmani Baral, the eighth level officers. Similarly, cases have been filed against Prem Prasad Shrestha, A 7th level officer, Dilliram Baral and Homnath Sharma, 6th level officers, computer operators Jhalak Poudel and Mohan Mani Subedi.

According to the commission, irregularities have been found in the license examination conducted by the Gandaki Transport Management Office in Mangsir 2075 BS, Kartik and Mangsir 2076 BS in which they passed the candidates who had failed the exam while failing the ones who had passed.
The case has been filed against them at the Special Court under the Prevention of Corruption Act 2002, according to Shyam Prasad Bhandari, spokesperson for the commission.
