KATHMANDU, June 26: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has summoned 86 persons including families of those allegedly involved in transferring ownership of government land at Baluwatar to individuals.
Bhatebhateni Super Market promoter Min Bahadur Gurung's family members are among those summoned by the anti-graft body for further investigation.

In a public notice, the CIAA asked those involved including families of Shova Kanta Dhakal and Ram Subedi who were identified as land mafia by a government's probe panel under the leadership of former secretary Sharada Prasad Trital, to be present at the CIAA for recording statement within seven days.
Earlier, the government had directed the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police to further investigate the case after it came to light that ownership of a total of 114 ropani [14.33 acre] belonging to Lalita Niwas, which was acquired by the government by paying due compensation to its users then, was illegally registered in the name of private individuals.
Then ministers, land revenue officials, secretaries, and political leaders are also being investigated.
