CoAS Thapa returns home wrapping up his six-day India visit

KATHMANDU, Jan 16: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Purna Chandra Thapa has returned home, wrapping up his six-day official visit to India on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 16: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Purna Chandra Thapa has returned home, wrapping up his six-day official visit to India on Wednesday.


COS Lt. General Hemant Raj Kunwar received CoAS Thapa at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) this afternoon.


During his visit, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the Honorary Rank of the General of the Indian Army on General Thapa.

During his visit, Thapa met with his Indian counterpart General Bipin Rawat and inspected National Defense College based in New Delhi, South Western Command in Jayapur and Central Command in Lucknow.


Thapa had left for New Delhi on January 11 at the invitation of Indian Army Chief Rawat.
