KATHMANDU, April 7: The code of conduct for the by-election of members of the House of Representatives has come into effect from today.
The Election Commission (EC) has decided to implement the entire provisions of the Election Code of Conduct, 2079 BS from April 7 until the completion of the by-elections in Chitwan, Bara and Tanahun districts.

Shaligram Sharma Paudel, the spokesperson of the EC, informed that they have decided to implement the code of conduct from Friday by using the authority given by section 22 of the Election Commission Act, 2017 (2073 BS) and sub-section (2) of section 1 of the Election Code of Conduct, 2079 BS. By-elections will be held in Chitwan Constituency-2, Bara Constituency-2 and Tanahun Constituency-1 on April 23.
