DAO grants permission to police to detain microfinance victims who entered parliament for 7 days

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: The District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu, has granted permission to the police to detain 49 microfinance victims, who had entered the Federal Parliament Building during their protest, for seven days.

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: The District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu, has granted permission to the police to detain 49 microfinance victims, who had entered the Federal Parliament Building during their protest, for seven days.


One man and 48 women were arrested by the police. According to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, their detention period has been extended due to offense against public peace.

They entered the Federal Parliament Building on Monday to protest with the demand that microfinance loans should be waived. They were arrested by the police and kept under custody at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Singha Durbar.
