DHARAN, Sept 11: Twenty-one persons including four police personnel and five inmates were diagnosed with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Dharan on Friday.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gyanendra Basnet, of the infected, an Assistant Sub Inspector and three police constables working at the Area Police Office, Dharan, tested positive for COVID-19.

Likewise, three inamates ages between 24 and 34 who were arrested on the charge of smugglind drugs and two other inmates aged 46 and 35 who were held on the charge of rape have also been found infected with COVID-19.
Chief of Health Division at the Dharan Sub-metropolitan City Office, Umesh Mehta, said that a 30-year-old man from Dharan-4, another 43-year-old man from Dharan-15, a 44-year-old female from Dharan-11, another 27-year-old female from Dharan-6 and a 43-year-old male from Dharan-13 also tested positive for the viral infection.
Similarly, a 29-year-old male and his spouse, aged 24, from India have also been diagnosed with COVID-19. Four youths who came to Dharan to undergo training for joining the Brising Army were also diagnosed with COVID-19.
A sanitation worker at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences also tested positive for the virus. With this, the number of COVID-19 infected people in Dharan has reached 311.
