KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Purna Bahadur Khadka has canceled his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to the Ministry of Defence, DPM Khadka's visit to the UAE, scheduled to be held from November 13 to November 17, has been canceled as he is active in the Jajarkot earthquake rescue.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Defense reads, “As DPM Khadka himself is continuously active in the disaster-affected areas in the relief, rescue and rehabilitation of earthquake victims, it is hereby informed that the tour program of the UAE’s by a Nepali delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense has been canceled with the conclusion that it is not appropriate to go on a foreign visit in this extreme situation.”
He was invited by the UAE government to participate in the 18th Dubai Airshow 2023 to be held in the UAE from November 13 to November 17, 2023. On the same basis, the meeting of the Council of Ministers on November 2 had already given approval for the delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Khadka to visit the UAE.
