DRI seeks fine of Rs 195.7 million from manpower owner Tamang

KATHMANDU, Jan 4: Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) has sought a fine of Rs 195.7 million from Balbahadur Tamang, the owner of Sky Overseas Services, for evading taxes worth millions.

KATHMANDU, Jan 4: Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) has sought a fine of  Rs  195.7 million from Balbahadur Tamang, the owner of Sky Overseas Services, for evading taxes worth millions.


While filing a case against manpower owner Tamang at the Kathmandu District Court on Friday for evading taxes worth Rs 65.24 million, the DRI has sought a fine of Rs 195.7 million and three years imprisonment.

In a press statement, the DRI stated that Tamang accumulated huge amount of money from various    manpower companies in foreign countries for sending Nepali migrant workers through his company but did not pay the tax in the period of 2066 BS to 2073 BS. Tamang is a former president of Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies.
