Driving licenses of frequent traffic rule violators to be suspended

KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office (KVTPO) has sent 60 driving licenses to the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) recommending their suspension from November 17 to December 15.

KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office (KVTPO) has sent 60 driving licenses to the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) recommending their suspension from November 17 to December 15.


The KVTPO sent such numbers of licenses to the DoTM for suspension reasoning that drivers were found frequently violating rules. The recommendation for the suspension of license was made as per Vehicle and Transport Management Act 2049 BS and its Regulation 2054 BS. According to the traffic police, they were violators of traffic rules more than five times.

Spokesperson at the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajendra Prasad Bhatta, said they had sent licenses to the DoTM for the action as per the Transport Management Act-2049 because the drivers had violated the traffic rules more than five times. 


Among those to be punished, a driver had faced action 44 times.
