PANCHTHAR, Feb 24: An elderly woman was killed and eight others were injured when a jeep (Me 1 Ja 2793) collided head-on with a tractor (Me 1 Ta 3553) at Tinpangre of Phalgunanda-3 in Panchthar along the Mechi Highway on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Lila Maya Chemjong, 58, of Phalgunanda-2. The injured were receiving treatment at local Ilam Hospital, said the police. Both of the vehicles had plunged 10 meters down. RSS
