KATHMANDU, July 4: The electric crematorium at Pashupatinath Temple that had malfunctioned after the damage incurred by the flood is to resume by Wednesday.

The services of the crematorium had been halted after the precinct was waterlogged by the flooded Bagmati River on June 29.

A machine brought from the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage has been used to clear off the sewerage gushed into the machine of the crematorium, shared Dr Govind Tondon, member-secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT).

The electric crematorium came into operation from January 24, 2016. So far, 1,800 bodies have been cremated in it, according to PADT. RSS
