Entrepreneurs arrested in Kailali

KAILALI, July 3: Police have arrested three officials of Attariya Chamber of Commerce and Industry including chamber president Ashok Devkota on Wednesday. Devkota and two others were arrested during a press meet held at the chamber’s auditorium.

KAILALI, July 3: Police have arrested three officials of Attariya Chamber of Commerce and Industry including chamber president Ashok Devkota on Wednesday. Devkota and two others were arrested during a press meet held at the chamber’s auditorium.


Devkota along with chamber members Bipin Kumar Saud and Dinesh Bista has been charged with attempting to spoil the inauguration program of city assembly on June 25. The police were looking for them after the municipality lodged a complaint against eight entrepreneurs who have been accused of ruining the program by breaking mic and trying to manhandle during the program of city assembly.

The police nabbed all three during a press meet organized to give information regarding the incident of the city assembly inauguration.


Police have started the investigation of the issue.


Meanwhile, the local entrepreneurs have shut down Attariya market to protest the arrest of entrepreneurs. They have urged the concerned authorities to withdraw the case filed against the detainees and to release them.
