KATHMANDU, May 21: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the electoral alliance has become successful in local-bodies elections.
"We have embarked on a new journey for political change and stability in the country by forging alliance," he said, adding that the alliance emerged successfully to realize the shared objective in Madhyapur Thimi.
Chairman Dahal further said that a strong determination has been set for taking ahead the alliance in the upcoming provincial and federal elections as well as in the journey of country's development and prosperity.

Congratulating the elected candidates of the five-party alliance in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality in his residence in Khumaltar on Saturday, he assured of giving continuity to the alliance and taking it ahead in a more effective manner. He mentioned that it is the time to transform the victory into development, prosperity and welfare of people.
Chairman Dahal also wished the newly-elected people's representatives for their successful tenure. Stating that Madhyapurthimi is a historical municipality of Bhaktapur, he asserted that the pro-people decisions and actions have direct bearing on the lives of the residents of the municipality.
Dahal noted that the good performance of the elected people's representatives in Madhyapur Thimi would also pose a challenge to the political monopoly in Bhaktapur. "Development works such as health, education, employment, sanitation and information flow have direct bearing on the well-being of the people of Bhaktapur, the entire valley and the country," he said.
It may be noted that Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Surendra Shrestha on behalf of electoral alliance had won mayoral post of Bhaktapur with 15,098 votes.
