Five-party ruling alliance meeting underway at Baluwatar

KATHMANDU, April 11: A meeting of the top leaders of the five-party ruling alliance is currently underway at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar. The meeting is said to be discussing the issue of collaboration among the ruling alliance in the upcoming local-level elections.

KATHMANDU, April 11: A meeting of the top leaders of the five-party ruling alliance is currently underway at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar. The meeting is said to be discussing the issue of collaboration among the ruling alliance in the upcoming local-level elections.


The meeting will also discuss preparations for the local-level elections and the decisions taken by the alliance’s election monitoring mechanism.

The meeting of the election monitoring mechanism held on Sunday decided to move ahead as per the aspiration of the five-party alliance and mutual coordination for the local polls. The ruling coalition had formed the election monitoring mechanism under the coordination of senior leader of the Nepali Congress, Ram Chandra Poudel.  


Similarly, the meeting also asked the district and province bodies to send the names of candidates for the local-level elections to the center by forging consensus within April 13. 


Member-Secretary of the mechanism and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba's legal expert, Keshav Raj Joshi, shared that top leaders of the alliance would make a joint appeal addressing the contemporary issues including local-level elections.
