Saruk Tamrakar has rocked the screen as an actor in feature films like ‘Rani’, ‘Intu Mintu Londonma’, ‘Meri Mamu’ and ‘Namari Baanchey’. Also, he has been featured in several short films such as ‘Happy New Year’, ‘Thirsty’ among others. Not only on screen, but he is also skilled behind the screen as a director and producer.
In conversation with My City, Saruk revealed five things that many may not know about him.
His name not inspired by Bollywood superstar

About his name, Saruk shared, “Everyone thinks that my parents are a huge fan of Shahrukh Khan. But it’s not the truth. I got my name from their name’s initial—Sanu (father) and Rukmani (mother).”
Single child
He is the only child of his parents and he found it hard while growing up as the only child. He says, “Growing up was hard. But now I feel fine as I don’t have to share my room or things. So there is no quarreling in the house.”
Multi-talented
Saruk is popularly known as actor and model. However, only few know him being a fine photographer, filmmaker and director.
Debut from Television ad’
Saruk started his career from TVC of cheese rings. “I was seen on screen first in a TVC of cheese rings that I used to be embarrassed about. I was studying at the bachelor’s level when a new student pointed at me asking ‘you were in that cheese ring’s ad’ that time I told her ‘No’,” shared Saruk.
Has a crooked nose
Saruk says he has a crooked nose that goes unnoticed. He explained, “When I was in grade eight there used to be a boy who bullied me and one day we had a fight. He hit me on the nose and I had bleeding. Later I found that my nose is slightly crooked.”
