Malla, 45, died while he was in isolation at his Woodside-based rented room, according to his relatives. He did not go to the hospital even after having high fever and breathing difficulties for the past few days. "Malla called the ambulance on Wednesday but did not go to hospital because he thought that it was not so severe," one of his relatives told Republica.

Even after being diagnosed with coronavirus, he continued his work. He was a taxi driver. He is the fourth Nepali to die of the contagion in the United States. Malla came to the United States some eight years ago. His family members are in Nepal. Malla is survived by his wife and two daughters.
