Four Indians, two others held with firearms near border

RAUTAHAT, Oct 13: Police in Rautahat district on Friday arrested six individuals including four Indian nationals in possession of Chinese pistols and their magazines.A police team on a regular patrol had arrested the six from the Nepal-India border. According to police, the police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Basnet from the District Police Office (DPO) caught them from the no man's land near Paroha Municipality-8, Motipur while they were smoking hashish.

Chinese pistols confiscated


RAUTAHAT, Oct 13: Police in Rautahat district on Friday arrested six individuals including four Indian nationals in possession of Chinese pistols and their magazines. A police team on a regular patrol had arrested the six from the Nepal-India border. According to police, the police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Basnet from the District Police Office (DPO) caught them from the no man's land near Paroha Municipality-8, Motipur while they were smoking hashish.

Police said the six had tried to flee throwing away the weapons. They are being investigated on charges of possessing firearms and illegal drugs.


Kamal Sah, 22, of Gokum Gram Panchayat, India; Rakesh Paswan, 32; Sandip Paswan, 28, and Awadhesh Chaurasiya, 26, of Ghodasan Shreepur, India; Rohit Sah, 31, of Fulbariya Rural Municipality, Dhanusha; and Manoj Tamang, 25, of Timal, Kavrepalanchowk are among those arrested, according to Chief Superintendent of Police Kedar Dhakal.


Meanwhile, Rautahat Police on Friday confiscated a huge amount of liquor being smuggled to India via Ishnath Municipality-6. Police have seized the liquor and a Hyundai Santro car used in the smuggling. Preparations are underway to hand them over to the Revenue Investigation Department, informed Dhakal, the chief of DPO, Rautahat.
