Fugitive arrested after 14 years

RAUTAHAT, Nov 10: A man who was sentenced to four years in prison along with a fine of Rs 5,000 by the Sarlahi District Court in March 2008 has been arrested by the Sarlahi Police 14 years after he was convicted.

RAUTAHAT, Nov 10: A man who was sentenced to four years in prison along with a fine of Rs 5,000 by the Sarlahi District Court in March 2008 has been arrested by the Sarlahi Police 14 years after he was convicted.


According to the police, the arrested is Pradip Mishra, son of Sitaram Mishra of Balara Municipality-3 of Sarlahi. Mishra, who was convicted in a case related to physical assault, was declared absconding and had been on the run for the past 14 years.

Police managed to arrest Mishra from his house on the basis of special information that he was hiding in his house.


After his arrest, Mishra was presented before the Sarlahi District Court and was sent to Rautahat Gaur Jail to serve his sentence.
