KATHMANDU, Nov 6: Nepali Congress leader Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar has been nominated as the vice-president of the party. The meeting of the NC Central Working Committee held on Tuesday decided to nominate Gachchhadar to the post.
Leader Gachchhadar, who had quit NC in 2008 and joined the then Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic) had re-joined the party in 2017 after the merger of two parties.

Likewise, the Mahasamiti meeting of the party has been postponed until mid- December. Now the meeting will be held on December 14-18. Prior to this, NC had decided to hold the Mahasamiti meeting in Kathmandu from November 21 to 25.
According to party spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma, the Mahasamiti meeting was postponed to hold more discussions on party statute amendment draft.
Similarly, the meeting has formed a five-member dialogue committee led by vice-president Bimalendra Nidhi to finalize the party merger bid to the lower level.
