Gagan Thapa appeals to GC representatives to vote for Koirala

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: Nepali Congress (NC) leader and former health minister Gagan Thapa, who has filed his candidature for the post of General Secretary in the ongoing 14th General Convention (GC) of the NC, has appealed to the GC representatives to vote for Dr Shekhar Koirala.

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: Nepali Congress (NC) leader and former health minister Gagan Thapa, who has filed his candidature for the post of General Secretary in the ongoing 14th General Convention (GC) of the NC, has appealed to the GC representatives to vote for Dr Shekhar Koirala.


Leader Thapa has requested for Koirala's victory in the election.

“The enthusiasm and presence shown by you in favor of party transformation and change of leadership in the election held yesterday during the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress has given a clear indication that the party should now move forward in a new way. I sincerely appreciate the indomitable courage and bravery you have shown for the transformation of the party,” he said, “I think your wish is to oppose the continuity of the existing leadership. Now is the time to express that wish through the ballot papers. This is a momentous decision in the political life of the Nepali Congress. At this point, history urges us to make an extraordinary decision.”


He further added that NC leaders and cadres, well-wishers and the general public scattered across the country today are expecting ability, courage and sacrifice to make such a decision.
