Gandaki Minister Ale bans purchase of new vehicles in province

GANDAKI, June 23: New vehicles will not be purchased in Gandaki Province except for essential services in the coming fiscal year.


In the budget of the provincial government for the fiscal year 2023/24, it is mentioned that the expenditure criteria will be effectively implemented to minimize the recurrent expenditure while increasing the capital spending capacity of the provincial government.


Minister for Economic Affairs of Gandaki Province, Jeet Prakash Ale said that the budget has been allocated for conducting financial literacy and orientation programs in collaboration with banks and financial institutions to increase the access of common citizens to financial services and encourage the electronic payment system.

While formulating the annual budget of the province, arrangements have been made to focus on sustainable development, proportional inclusion and sustainable development goals and climate change adaptation, besides making it gender responsive and adopting the budget code for the same.


He said that priority has been given to budget allocation so that the projects of provincial pride, multi-year projects, ongoing and incomplete projects which are currently in operation are completed in the next fiscal year.


When the building of a community organization of a public nature is constructed with the resources of the provincial government, it is mandatory that the ownership rights of the land should be acquired in the name of the said organization.


The minister said that the budget has been allocated for conducting capacity building training programs for provincial and local level employees in relation to planning and budget formulation, fiscal discipline, fiscal transfer, provincial ministry budget information system, public procurement, financial discipline and development.


He said that Rs 72 million have been allocated for infrastructure development programs for a balanced development of the province, and effective and necessary procedures for implementation will be made and managed.
