KATHMANDU, July 28: A girl has gone missing after jumping into the Mahakali River in Darchula. According to the District Police Office Darchula, she went missing after jumping into the river on Saturday.
According to Gyanendra Singh, spokesperson and Inspector of the District Police Office. Darchula, Dhanisha Kunwar, a resident of Thara, Duhu Rural Municipality-4, jumped into the river at Ringnetal, Mahakali Municipality-4 at around 6:15 PM on Saturday.

A local resident alerted the police that Kunwar had arrived at the river bank with the intention of jumping into the river. In response, a team from the District Police Office was deployed. Both police personnel and locals attempted to convince her. However, despite their efforts, she jumped into the river when police approached to help.
Police said that she has not been found yet and the search operation to locate her is currently underway. The reason behind her jumping into the river has not been disclosed. A video of her jumping into the river has now gone viral on social media.
