Nepalgunj Airport Police Incharge Sub-Inspector (SI) Rabindra Bam confirmed that the travel agency had locked the office as the company failed to operate flights as agreed before.
He said that efforts are being made to call the two parties to resolve the issue. The service provided by Sita Air from Nepalgunj has stopped after the office was locked.
Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Nepalgunj Airport Office Chief Suresh Prasad Khanal responded that he was not aware of the Sita Air office being locked. "I do not have any information about the shutdown," he said.
Sita Air has been flying charter and cargo flights to various hilly districts of midwestern and far western Nepal through its 'Dornier' aircraft.
There is also an allegation that the businessmen are charging high fares in the name of charter flights from the passengers of the hilly districts. Passengers allege that there is brokering even in the sale of tickets.
