No banks have so far extended their branches at Badikedar, Bogtan, Sayal, Purbichauki, Aardash, KI Singh and Jorayal rural municipalities and Shikhar municipality.

In absence of the banks at local levels, the government offices are being compelled to go to district headquarters Silgadhi and Kailali for minor public transactions, shared Roj Bahadur Kalel, a local of Badikedar rural municipality, Bipinagar.

“There are no banks in rural municipalities. The service recipients are compelled to walk two days to reach district headquarters or Kailali to deposit minor revenues”.

Though the government had decided to bring into operation the banks and financial institutions at all local levels following the restructuring of the state, it has not yet been materialized which has caused inconvenience to the people.
