Govt assets will not be given to private sector for use: Minister Poudel

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel has said that the physical infrastructures belonging to the government will not be given to the private sector for use.

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel has said that the physical infrastructures belonging to the government will not be given to the private sector for use.


Inspecting the Kaiser Mahal on Sunday, Minister Poudel said that the land surrounding the mahal will not be leased to any private company for use. He also clarified that the inspection was being conducted after the news started circulating in the media regarding the land surrounding the Kaiser Mahal being given to the private sector for use. He also said that action would be taken according to the law if the government structures were found to be used illegally by the private sector.

On the occasion, Minister Poudel also gave directions for the completion of the reconstruction process within six months.  The palace has been under construction after it was badly damaged in the 2015 earthquake.


Kaiser Mahal covers over 34 ropanis of land, of which the garden is built on eight ropanis of land.
