Govt decides to close schools and colleges of city area with high risk of COVID-19 transmission

KATHMANDU, April 19: The government has decided to close schools and colleges in the city area and districts with high risk of COVID-19 until the end of Baishak (May 14).

KATHMANDU, April 19: The government has decided to close schools and colleges in the city area and districts with high risk of COVID-19 until the end of Baishak (May 14). 


A cabinet meeting held earlier this morning took the decision to this effect.

Earlier, the Covid-19 Crisis Management Committee had recommended the government to close schools and colleges in areas with high risk of COVID-19.


However, the government has directed schools and colleges to continue their virtual classes.


The government has already categorized Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kaski, Rupandehi, Chitwan, Banke, Parsa, Kailali, Morang, Dang, Surkhet, Bara and Banglung as the districts with high risk of COVID-19.
