Govt to provide Rs 1 m each to families of those killed during Madhes Movement

KATHMANDU, Aug 5:   A Cabinet meeting held in Singha Durbar on Friday decided to provide Rs 1 million each to the families of those killed during the Madhes Movement.

KATHMANDU, Aug 5:   A Cabinet meeting held in Singha Durbar on Friday decided to provide Rs 1 million each to the families of those killed during the Madhes Movement.




Similarly, the meeting also decided to prove free treatment to the injured. The treatment expenses will be provided through the Ministry of Home Affairs,  Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara informed journalists following the meeting.

The meeting also decided to initiate the process for releasing those detained during the Mades Movement within one week.


A meeting between the government representatives and the leaders of the Federal Alliance (FA) held in Singha Durbar this morning had reached an understanding that the government provide compensation to the victims of the families, free treatment to the injured, release those detained, among others, in line with the  three-point deal reached before the prime ministerial election.
