KATHMANDU, June 4: The preliminary hearing on the petition filed in the Supreme Court (SC) against the certification of the Citizenship Bill is being held today.


The date was scheduled for today for the preliminary hearing in the writ filed in the SC against President Ram Chandra Paudel's move to certify the Citizenship Bill.

Senior advocates Dr Surendra Bhandari and Bal Krishna Neupane registered the writ against Paudel’s controversial move on Friday. 


In the writ petition registered in the SC against the Citizenship Bill, the petitioners have demanded that the act of validating the Citizenship Bill passed by the previous parliament be declared unconstitutional, and that the certification be revoked by a writ of mandate.
