Justice Sharma to hear writ petition filed against President’s move to certify Citizenship Bill

KATHMANDU, June 4: A preliminary hearing is being held today on the petition filed at the Supreme Court against the certification of the Citizenship Bill.


SC Justice Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma’s bench will hear the writ petition. Senior advocates Dr Surendra Bhandari and Balkrishna Neupane had registered the writ petition against President’s move on Friday.

In the writ petition registered at the SC against the Citizenship Bill, the petitioners have demanded that the act of certifying the Citizenship Bill passed by the previous parliament is illegal, and that the certification be annulled by the apex court.
