PHC to start hearings on candidates recommended for SC justices from December 13

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) under House of Representatives (HoR) will conduct hearings on the six candidates recommended for appointment as Supreme Court (SC) justices from December 13.

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) under House of Representatives (HoR) will conduct hearings on the six candidates recommended for appointment as Supreme Court (SC) justices from December 13.


A meeting of the PHC held on Thursday decided to hear the six candidates recommended for SC justices from December 13 to December 15. The committee had previously invited complaints against the recommended individuals.

Sources said a total of nine complaints have been received against the candidates in the committee so far. A meeting of the Judicial Council (JC) held on November 21 had recommended the names of Saranga Subedi, Abdul Aziz Musalman, Mahesh Sharma Paudel, Tek Prasad Dhungana, Sunil Pokharel, and Balkrishna Dhakal for their appointment as SC justices.
