KATHMANDU, August 2: The country is under the influence of monsoon wind. Parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces are currently experiencing light to moderate rainfall, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology of Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).
Normal to partly cloudy skies will prevail across the country this afternoon. According to the MFD, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the afternoon at some places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and few places in the remaining provinces.
Heavy rainfall likely in some provinces today
Similarly, there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
The officials at the MFD have said that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some places of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and few places in the remaining provinces at night. Furthermore, there is also a chance of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces during the night.
The MFD has requested everyone to take necessary precautions to avoid inconvenience, risk or damage to public health, agriculture, daily life, road and air transport due to rainfall.
