Home Minister hopes for devt, promises ending syndicate

BIRATNAGAR, June 1: Minister for Home Affairs, Ram Bahadur Thapa said the country's economic growth rate would touch an eight percent next year. 


Speaking in a joint press meet organized by Press Chautari and Press Center at Morang, the Home Minister expressed his hope that the budget for the upcoming fiscal year presented by the government would help bring development and prosperity in the country and give its way for attaining double-digit economic growth by the next couple of years.

The home minister expressed commitment to control black markets and necessary steps would be taken against those who were part of corruption. Stating that the budget was sufficient to all provincial governments to undertake development activities, he promised to act tough against contractors who would delay development projects. 


Answering a query regarding gold smuggling, Thapa said that investigations were ongoing and that the government would “leave no stones unturned to book the criminals.”  In addition, he assured to end syndicates in all sectors to promote healthy competition for easing access to quality goods and services.
