BIRGUNJ, Oct 14: India has ramped up security at the no-man's land and the transit points along the Nepal-India border here following its increasing hostilities with Pakistan.

Indian security personnel have tightened security checks at the border transit points as well as increased surveillance at the border areas suspecting the infiltration of criminal groups into India from Nepal taking advantage of the open border.

In this connection, security has been beefed up at border transit points on the Indian side as Aadapur, Ghodadana and Ghodasahaya along the Nepal-India border in Bara district. Similarly, the movement of four-wheel vehicles through these transit points has been banned. The Indian security personnel have also tightened security checks on persons crossing the border.

All vehicles except ambulances and those carrying wedding parties have been banned from plying through the border check points and other crossings along the no-man's land.

Simiarly, security has been tightened at Raxaul-Vishwa, Parsauni-Bhelai, Sirsiya- Raxaul, Janakitol-Inrwa, Thori and Bhiswa-Thori transit points alongthe Nepal-India border in Parsa district.

Although high alertness has been adopted at the border transit points in view of security concerns, this would not affect the Nepal-India relations, according to the Indian security forces. RSS
