KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale has said that he will continue his efforts to retrieve the assets of the state to the government, which are being exploited. He also announced to resign from his post if he failed to retrieve the state’s properties which fall under the jurisdiction of his ministry.

Addressing the meeting of the second quarterly progress review and ministry-level problem solving committee held at the Ministry of Tourism on Friday, Minister Ale expressed his determination to retrieve them under any condition. ‘It is my duty to retrieve the exploited assets of the state. Despite the encroachment of government property, the authorities concerned haven't done much to resolve the issue. Can't we move forward to do something for the country?’ Minister Ale questioned.

On the occasion, Minister Ale also expressed his determination to reclaim the land belonging to the Pashupati Area Development Trust, which is being encroached upon by the private sector. He claimed that he will fulfill his responsibilities honestly until the end of his tenure.

He also warned that it would not be tolerated if a government employee is found to be involved in a setting with another person. Stating that casinos in Nepal did not pay taxes by setting up with other ministers in the past, he shared that the ministry has started collecting taxes from them as well.

Minister Ale urged everyone not to believe in fake news as many media outlets have circulated false information about him despite doing a good job. He also directed the authorities concerned to do their duties properly and stressed the need to make financial progress from the budget allocated by the Ministry of Finance.
