KATHMANDU, Aug 27: The prohibitory orders issued in the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley - Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur - that were due to expire on Wednesday midnight have been extended by a week to curb the further spread of COVID-19 in the valley.
All services and activities except the emergency ones have been restricted as long as the prohibitory orders are in place.

Human and vehicular movement has been completely banned except for emergencies.
Markets have been allowed to remain open only till 9:15 in the morning for the supply of essentials.
