KATHMANDU, April 13: Swayambhunath area, one of the world heritage sites in the Kathamandu valley would have been crowded with a large number of visitors on this day if the situation had been normal. However, not only Nepal but the whole world has been hit hard by the pandemic of COVID-19.

Although it is Nepali New Year day today, Swayambhunath area is totally silent.  The cultural heritage site looks deserted.  Few animals including monkeys and dogs are seen roaming around in search of food.
